PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST (PAT)

The test battery consists of (5) items. This approach employs an “overall” scoring system which allows a lower score on one test item to be compensated by a higher score on another test item. The PAT consists of (5) physical fitness tests which will be given in the following order: bench press (1RM % of body weight – conversion), sit-up test (1-minute time limit), 300 meter sprint (under 68-seconds), push-up test (2-minute time limit), 1.5 mile run (18-minute time limit).

Those individuals who fail to meet the overall minimum score will not be allowed to move forward in the application process but may be eligible to re-test at a later date. For more specific information about the PAT, contact us at joincpd@charleston-sc.gov.
